John Z. Toscas Soccer Scholarship Program


The Program


The Academic Scholarship is funded for the purpose of expanding educational opportunities and encouraging academic achievement of Crestwood Soccer Club members and former members.

Eligibility

The scholarship is available to graduates of the Crestwood Soccer Club who are enrolled or have been accepted at a college or university. The scholarship application is available on an annual basis to those who apply and meet the following criteria.
• Graduate of the Crestwood Soccer Club
• Participated for a minimum of four years in the Club
• Must be accepted to a college or university undergraduate program or enrolled at a college or university
• Must have contributed to the Club after graduation:
o Coaching
o Refereeing
o Maintenance of Fields/Equipment
o Other activity approved by the Board

A minimum of a B average is required at date of application

Applicants are typically high school seniors; however students who are attending a college or university undergraduate program may also apply.

Application

Interested students must complete the attached application and return it to the Club with a current letter of acceptance from the college or university, a transcript of grades and a letter or letters of recommendation no later than July 30. Applications may be dropped off to a member of the board or mailed to:

Applicants are responsible for supplying and submitting all necessary information. Applicants will be evaluated on the information supplied; therefore answer all questions as completely as possible. All information is considered confidential and will only be reviewed by the Crestwood Soccer Club Executive Board. 

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected by John Z. Toscas and the Executive Board on the basis of academic record, demonstrated participation in school and community activities and need. An individual who has worked with the applicant or has provided high school or college counseling should provide a letter of recommendation.
